Unlocking the Magnifying Glass

The Winter Mystery begins with a shadowy figure in town during Winter. Follow the footprints through Pelican Town locations until the confrontation that awards the Magnifying Glass. Missing the trail usually means you entered a building out of order or skipped a day—reset your route from the bus stop / town entrance footprints.

Once unlocked, the Glass is a permanent key item. You do not need to equip it; notes become readable automatically. If you somehow transfer farms or confuse multiplayer inventories, confirm the host/farmer who finished Winter Mystery actually holds the unlock.
